Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paints: First Impressions

Today I popped into Superdrug as they had 3 for 2 across all makeup, aka my favourite promotion, and I came across the brand new Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paints. With the 3 for 2 offer it would have been rude not to have snapped up 3 of my favourite shades and I also received a free makeup bag just for purchasing 3 beauty items. You just have to right?

The Coconut Infusion line is an entirely new formula, containing a unique blend of coconut oil and coconut water to gently hydrate and nourish nails. They also promise to create a glossy, smooth finish due to it’s high reflective resin system as well as an amazing depth of colour. Rich with anti-oxidising properties, hexanal and Vitamins B & C will repair and replenish your nails producing a long-lasting and bright finish.

The 9 colours in the range are (Left to Right):

Aloha

  • Tiki Hut
  • Surfboard
  • Sunkissed
  • Star Fish
  • Skinny Dip
  • Laguna
  • Flamingo
  • Bikini

Out of the 9, my favourites are Laguna, Tiki Hut and Bikini though there wasn’t a colour I wouldn’t use. Each colour is very beachy and perfect for the summer. I also really like the Rose Gold/Bronzed lids in contrast with each shade – they look so summery.

Shades (Top to Bottom): Tiki Hut, Bikini, Laguna

Please excuse my very bitten nails here but as you can see each shade is indeed very shiny as promised in their description. The consistency reminds me of the Gelly range but not as thick, they also feel very smooth and glossy when dry. My absolute favourite is Tiki Hut which is a beautiful tanned nude and I can see myself wearing this shade a lot. I also really want to create an ombre effect with Bikini and Laguna as I think the two colours will blend beautifully.

Interestingly Tiki Hut and Bikini applied beautifully with one coat however Laguna needed a good 3 to cover any patchiness. They did only take 5 minutes to dry too and the colours are rich and pigmented. As for strengthening my nails, I’ll have to report back after a few days to see if I notice a difference.

As a first impression I really like the Coconut Infusion collection and I can definitely see myself purchasing more for the summer.

Pros:

  • Beautiful range of colours for the summer
  • Gorgeous packaging
  • Glossy finish
  • Dries within 5 minutes
  • Coconut Infusion will hydrate your nails
  • Vitamins B & C will help repair
  • Smooth, light consistency
  • Rich, pigmented colours

Cons:

  • £4.99 each, I’m personally happy to pay this but they are slightly more expensive than previous ranges
  • Some colours may need more coats than others as Laguna did apply patchy

If you did want the entire collection, Superdrug are offering it as a set for £25 which is a bargain!

Thank you so much! You have made my day! I never think of people reading my blog, is that weird? I just post what I want to say like I’m talking to someone and I’ll look back and read like a diary.
