The Beauty Blogger Tag

I absolutely love browsing tags on WordPress and I came across the ‘Beauty Blogger Tag’ on Life Of A Magical Thinker, which I really enjoyed reading. I’ve linked the original post so please check it out! I thought it would be really fun to get involved and I want to extend it to all of you. So if you’re reading this and think to yourself “ooh I’d love to post this myself”, then please do!

Skin Care
1. How many times do you wash your face daily?

I really want to say twice a day. Perhaps this is true for 7 days a month (oops). I can get really lazy with my skincare routine, sometimes I wash in the morning and then use wipes and toner in the evening. Sometimes I cleanse and tone in the evening and just roll out of bed the next day. I am however trying so hard to make sure I cleanse at the end of the day as it removes so much more dirt and oil than a makeup wipe.

2. What skin type do you have?

My skin is crazy! Sometimes it’s dry, sometimes it’s oily and spotty and sometimes it’s a combination of them all, all at once. So definitely combination!

3. What is your current facial wash?

I’ve used so many over the years and I love to mix and match. My ultimate 2 are the Lush Cosmetics Ultrabland Cleanser and the Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk.

4. Do you exfoliate?

Yes! This is one thing I actually love doing as I’m obsessed with achieving smooth skin. I exfoliate at least twice a week.

5. What brand do you use?

Soap & Glory Scrub Atomic Amazing Daily Face Polish, it makes my skin so soft!

6. What moisturizer do you use?

This changes a lot but most recently the Steam Cream Nuts For You Moisturiser. It’s an excellent base for makeup and softens your skin without making it greasy. It’s also super calming as it contains lots of lavender and oatmeal.

7. Do you have freckles?

Sometimes a cluster will appear on my nose in the summer. I do also have a larger freckle on my right cheek.

8. Do you use eye cream?

Nope! I probably should though.

9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I used to have such bad acne all over my face, hair line, chest and back. After 9 years I still get spots but I’d say my skin is acne free now. I could write a post about my experiences with acne if people are interested.

10. Did you ever use Pro-activ?

Nope!

Makeup
11. What foundation do you use?

Currenty the Youniqe Mineral Touch Foundation – I love the full coverage you can achieve without feeling or looking cakey.

12. How about concealer?

My all time favourite is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. It’s only £4.19 and it has fantastic coverage! The lightest shade is also really brightening.

13. Do you know your undertone colour?

Definitely cool, I have to really warm up my skin with bronzer and naturally my skin has a pink undertone.

14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?

Oh I am so on the fence about false lashes. I love them in photos and I love them on other people. But I find them so hard to put on, I’m a bit of a perfectionist and will not tolerate crooked, flappy lashes. I also find them a little uncomfortable so I rarely wear them.

15. Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes I did, though I wouldn’t say I 100% stick to it. Once the mascara starts to dry I tend to replace it, or if I notice my eyes are extra weepy or sore.

16. What brand of mascara do you use?

I use so many mascaras it just depends on how I feel on the day. I currently reach for the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara as I love the wand and formula. I find it magnifies all of my lashes without looking clumpy.

17. Sephora or MAC?

There is no Sephora in the UK. Let’s just let that sink in. However I did visit one in Copenhagen and picked up a few treats. I am 100% pro Sephora all the way, now if only they’d open a store in London!

18. Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

Nope! I tend not to buy too much from MAC, I have a few select pieces I really love otherwise I tend to avoid due to customer service experiences. I am also not a pro nor do I claim to be.

19. What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?

I currently absolutely love my Spectrum Unicorn Tears Lilac Blending Sponge as well as my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki for applying foundation. I’ve also recently purchased the Acevivi 10pc Kabuki Brush Set for only £6.99 and I have to say I’m so impressed. The brushes don’t shed and they are so soft too.

20. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?

I love my Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer Brighten, it’s only £2.50 and is amazing at making metallic shadows pop.

21. For the face?

I absolutely love the Makeup Revolution Aqua Priming Base Spray which is only £6. This is perfect when my skin is feeling a little dry, however makeup does not last when it’s hot or your skin is a little oily. On those days I use Benefit the POREfessional Matte Rescue Gel

22. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Liquid but with a felt tip applicator.

23. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Every damn day.

24. Do you use mineral makeup?

I have done in the past, but not currently. Bareminerals is definitely my favourite brand though for mineral makeup.

25. How about lipgloss?

I love lipgloss when I want something on my lips without the hassle. It’s easy and always looks good with a natural makeup look.

26. What is your favorite blush?

My Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose is my go to. I feel it looks good whatever the weather and blends well with all makeup shades, it’s definitely a staple in my collection.

27. Do you buy your makeup on eBay?

I have done when trying to get makeup that is only available in the US. You have to be so careful as there are many sellers out there who sell makeup containing harmful chemicals. I always recommend really researching your product and knowing what to expect inside and out so you know you’ve bought the real deal.

28. Do you like drugstore makeup?

I do! There are some definite bargains out there which should not be overlooked. My favourite brand is Makeup Revolution.

29. Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?

I have considered it, perhaps when I finish up my degree for fun.

30. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I can be, it depends how tired I am and what I’m applying. I always have a big, fluffy face brush to hand in case I over do my contour or blush!

31. Name a makeup crime that you hate.

False lashes which are falling off, I think it looks so messy.

32. Do you like colorful shades of makeup or neutral ones?

If you asked me this a year a go I would have said neutral. But I’m gravitating to purples and blues at the moment so I’m fully embracing colourful shades. I feel really empowered when I pull off something a little more daring. I even just ordered a green lipstick to play around with.

33. If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?

I would have to say a brown mascara to add definition to the lashes without looking out of place against a clean face.

34. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Most defintely, my skin needs to breathe sometimes. I also love remembering I have no makeup on and then enjoying a good eye rub. I love my face with or without makeup.

35. What do you think of makeup?

For a long time I really hated makeup, I saw it as such a chore and if I’m honest I was really under confident. I’d apply makeup and feel like everyone would just laugh at it. Thanks to Instagram and blogging, I’ve become so much more confident. For me, makeup is about expressing myself and having fun. It’s not a crutch I depend upon but equally it’s something I really enjoy. I’m slowly learning and I feel like sharing each experience pushes me forward and makes me stronger.

It’s $15.06 including shipping on Amazon. I have it in my cart. I’m scared I’ll order it, and it won’t work for me. I’m thinking about to do that. lol I’m glad I inspired you! Thank you! ❤️
