I love experimenting with bright colours but when it comes to work, I like to keep my face as natural as possible. So I thought I’d share my go to natural look which is perfect for work or school.
When I get up early for work I like to keep my routine as simple as possible. So I prime my face with the new Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water. It makes my skin feel really refreshed and the added oil softens my skin. I then apply the L’Oreal Cushion Foundation all over my face. This foundation has an applicator sponge included which you gently press onto the product soaked cushion. There’s no need for brushes or beauty blenders and application is really quick. It also has medium coverage and it lasts a good 10 hours + which I think is fantastic. I then use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer on my blemishes and under eye to conceal and brighten my skin, gently blending in with a flat foundation brush. I then find my face is really dewy so I mattify it with powder, my favourite is the Laura Geller Baked Balance-n-Brighten Color Correcting Foundation. It’s really weightless and also has good coverage without making your foundation feel thick. Currently this combination of foundation, concealer and powder is my favourite for a weightless yet flawless finish.
I then add some definition to my face by contouring my cheekbones. I love the Freedom Pro Powder Strobe Palette and I use the lightest contour shade to make my cheekbones stand out. I make sure to lightly blend it with a fluffy face brush so the contour isn’t too strong, you want it to be subtle. Next is a little blush and I find the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Palette is perfect for both highlighting and adding a little colour. I use the deep rose blush for a subtle hint of pink and the light shimmer adds a glowy effect.
I like to add definition to my brows with the Benefit 3D Browtones Eyebrow Enchancer. I think this is one of the best products for blonde brows as it isn’t too grey, yellow or orange toned. It’s nice and subtle but makes such a difference to your eyebrows. Because at 6am I can be a bit lazy, eyeshadow consists of one product which isn’t even an eyeshadow. The Bourjois Bronzing Gold Powder is a very pretty bronzer but looks equally gorgeous on the eyes. It’s just such a pretty, shimmery gold! I like to apply it to my crease with a fluffy blending brush, bringing it lightly down over my eyelid. You’re left with a light ombré effect and slight definition to your eyes. I then finish it off with my favourite mascara, the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara. I like the way it fans out my lashes; opening the eyes. On my lips, I tend to use a light pink liquid lipstick or gloss. Today my lips felt a little dry so I only applied a little lip balm.
Overall, I think this look is easy, natural and pretty. I’d love to know what you think in the comments below as well as your go to products for work or school.
