As it’s October, Berry lips are back on trend. They’re cool, look great with a warm scarf and smoky eye and they’re on every Beauty Blogger’s Instagram. If you want to rock the trend but don’t want to break the bank, keep reading as I’ve compiled my favourite affordable drugstore lipsticks. To make it even easier you can buy it all at Superdrug, I do enjoy getting everything in one store!
Rebel with a cause is the cheapest lipstick on the list at only £1. It has a creamy texture and it’s super pigmented. This purple/red beauty lasts surprisingly long (around 4 hours) without needing a touch up which is very impressive for the texture and the price! This is the perfect lipstick to try when playing around with deeper berry tones as well as building your confidence in rocking bolder colours. This lipstick is perfect for makeup beginners and anyone who loves a bargain.
Diamond Life is slightly more expensive than the previous Makeup Revolution lipstick but worth it for the packaging alone. Unlike Rebel With A Cause, it possesses a darker purple tone to unlock your inner vamp. The texture is creamy and glides on beautifully, lasting for around 4 hours before needing to touch up. Keep this in your handbag and be the envy of all your friends with it’s Rose Gold gorgeousness.
I really love the consistency of the Salvation Lip Lacquers and Rebel is no exception. They look wonderfully matte on the lips but they don’t entirely dry so your lips remain very soft. Rebel is a very similar colour to Rebel With A Cause but in a liquid formula. If you prefer liquid lipsticks, this is the berry Makeup Revolution Lipstick for you. But be mindful, it’s not entirely food and drink proof. I do recommend leaving it on your lips for a bit before you start munching your mid-morning snack.
This lipstick is slightly more expensive but worth checking out for the Winter months due to it’s moisturising properties. Unlike other liquid lipsticks this doesn’t dry completely matte, despite claiming to. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it gives your lips a break and does still last longer than creamy lipsticks. You’ll have to avoid food and drink if you don’t have time to touch up, but expect a good 6-7 hours wear time. This berry shade is also a little pinker, highly pigmented and smells like cupcakes!
These might not be your typical Autumn berry shades but I think these swatches are utterly beautiful. At only £3 each I think they’re the best liquid lipsticks you can buy in the drugstore. They last just as long as my high end liquid lipsticks, they’ll stick with you through breakfast, lunch and dinner and will also be ready to party through the night. Because not everyone wants to wear a deep lipstick shade I thought these would be fun, bright and perfect on a sunny Autumn day. They also smell like strawberry syrup, which for £3 is amazing.
I hope you like the affordable berry lipsticks I’m loving at the moment. If you feel a little under confident and don’t think this trend will suit you, give it a go. I assure you, you’ll look awesome. I’d love to know your favourite lipstick trend and your go to lipstick this season in the comments below!
