The last time I wrote a monthly favourites post was July 2015 – wow! Which means a favourites post is majorly overdue! As I’m now trying to blog a lot more often, there is definitely a place for it in my schedule! I thought I would write about all the products I have either loved or used non-stop this month along with my favourite purchase of the month. I would also love to read your favourites for October, so please share them in the comments below!
When I saw that Zoella had released a Zoella Lifestyle line, I was really intrigued by her home fragrance products. I do love the cosy feeling of a candle burning in the background but when I went to my local Boots they’d run out of candles. Instead I picked up a Reed Diffuser in the scent Homemade Treats as bakery fragrances are my favourite. I thought the outer packaging was really cute and the actual reed diffuser is quite basic yet looks really lovely in the windowsill. To set it up, all you need to do is remove the plug from the bottle and insert the reeds; making sure the reeds are spread out. After 24 hours the fragrance is fully diffused and will keep your room smelling sweet for up to 12 weeks. I have to say I wasn’t expecting a strong smell from a reed diffuser but it’s absolutely amazing! The scent itself smells like buttercream, caramel and cupcakes all rolled into one and the fragrance is really strong. Every time I walk into my room I’m greeted with a homely scent of baking and I cannot recommend it enough.
I’ve been a little bit obsessed with the Benefit 3D BROWtones Eyebrow Enhancer this month as the wand is just so good at accurately defining an arch. When you’re up early and don’t have a lot of time to apply your makeup, this product will give you perfect brows in seconds.
I’ve been using the Laura Geller Beauty Baked Balance n Brighten Colour Correcting Foundation to set my liquid foundation for the past few weeks and I’ve received so many compliments! It seems to airbrush out any remaining imperfections and makes my foundation last literally until I want to take it off. I have never loved powder foundation but this is a definite winner for me!
I’ve worn the Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paint in Copper Mine for the past week and I am so impressed with it’s longevity and pigmentation. I barely needed to add a second layer and I love how shimmery it is. With a top coat added, it’s lasted really well with minimal chipping and I think it looks perfect for Autumn.
Keeping with the quick and easy makeup theme, I have literally used these Kiko products every single day this month. The Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow is so pigmented and blends beautifully with a fluffy shadow brush. I use the shade Golden Brown all over my eyelid whilst gently buffing it into my crease. I then take the Baked Eyeshadow Duo shade Pearly Sand and pat that onto my inner corner. It’s super pigmented and ultra shimmery, interestingly the matte grey shade Satin Taupe is the complete opposite and is so sheer. The entire look is quick, easy and looks fantastic.
I’ve been having showers most days in October and Lush’s Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream has accompanied me every single time. I actually bought this bottle last year and decided I should probably use it up instead of buying a fresh one; it still smells absolutely amazing. I love the earthiness of the Patchouli combined with spicy Black Pepper and sweet Fair Trade Vanilla. It makes your skin feel super soft and I like that the fragrance lasts with you for most of the day. If you love the bath bomb, you’ll love this!
My favourite buy of the month is the Ciaté 2015 Advent Calendar from TK Maxx. It’s full price is the same as the 2016 calendar at £50, however I bought it for £17.99. Talk about a bargain! The beautiful calendar opens up like a book and contains a mixture of 23 mini nail varnishes and nail treatments; as well as a mystery full sized shade for Christmas Eve. I really wanted a beauty calendar for Advent this year but didn’t want to break the bank, so I’m super happy with this purchase!
I also thought I would mention a favourite blogger of the month. This month goes to someone who is super sweet, incredibly supportive to others and despite her own thoughts, posts beautiful photos on her blog. I also really admire young people who are in full time education yet they still find the time to be creative online, it’s an amazing skill to have! I wish Jodie over at Jodie And A Blog all the luck with trying to juggle everything. Keep at it girl, I just love your posts.
I really liked writing this post so if you want more favourites posts let me know, I don’t really think I should wait another year and a half to post the next one!
