Em Chats: November Update

Hello everyone!

So much has happened this month and it’s only the 5th so I thought I’d do a little life update! I’m sat in the warm after standing in the freezing cold for a few hours watching the most amazing fireworks at Beaconsfield Cricket Club; wrapped up in a blanket with a lemsip. I’m unfortunately suffering with an awful cold which is really affecting my lungs – asthma is well and truly a great thing to have this time of year! I don’t think the fireworks really helped but I had an amazing evening with my boyfriend and best friend so I am very happy despite almost coughing up a lung.

By the end of next week I should be an actual, real life adult who owns a property. Can’t quite believe I have got so old but I’m also so excited to move into my very own place! Decorating is going to be so much fun, especially as we’ll be ready in time for Christmas! I have also really unexpectedly been given a promotion at work! This time of year makes retail life hard, but I can now proudly say that I am the store manager of a store and I worked so hard to get there. I’m so proud of myself and I know we’ll absolutely boss Christmas as a team!

In terms of blogging, I have somehow managed to post 5 days a week. Don’t even ask me how, I’m not 100% sure how I’m doing it?! I have also been approached by another PR company which I cannot believe either and I’m excited to get some fresh content out there!

Life seems really hectic at the moment but it’s also so exciting and I cannot wait to see what the future holds! I also took a tonne of photos at the bonfire display and thought I’d share some with you all as it’s one of my favourite nights of the year.

      Thank you!
Today has been a terrible terrible day 😦
I’m actually taking a week off blog posts now just to get back on track with schedules and to visit my family 🙂 it’s all about staying on top of it so I should be fine with the blog posts 🙈

Congratulations about the promotion. I can sympathize with the difficulty surrounding retail and the festive period, i find it can suck the life out of the spirit really x

I didn’t realise it was just a British thing, I feel like we all pick up on other people’s celebrations but then we don’t have thanksgiving here!
It all stems from an attempt to blow up the House of Lords in the 1600s which was foiled. To celebrate that the King hadn’t died it became a yearly celebration to light bonfires and then fireworks. It gets a bit more complicated with like religion involved and stuff but nowadays it’s just a great excuse to wrap up warm, eat a tonne of street food with mulled wine and watch a good fireworks display!

It looked awesome on Snapchat!! Haha I forget too that others don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is something I’ve “celebrated” since I was born, with my family.

I’m now looking into “Unthanksgiving Day” or “The Indigenous People’s Sunrise Ceremony” which is an event held in the San Francisco Bay and I’m honestly loving this idea. Most of today’s generation isn’t really aware of why people don’t agree with Thanksgiving Day. We just see it as a time to surround yourself with family and loved ones, sit around the dinner table and eat like you’ve never ate before. But just like Bonfire Day, it’s a little complicated with all the religion stuff involved.

It’s absolutely crazy that all of these traditions are passed on with the real meaning completely lost and in most cases if people remembered the real meaning they wouldn’t agree with it!
However as life gets in the way it seems like we need these days to actually spend time with loved ones 🙃

      Thank you!!!
Yes I definitely will! The apartment is so light and airy as well which will make blogging photos look a lot better. But I’m excited to finally have my own space, will probably look to do some recipes and lifestyle as well! Might even start a YouTube channel 🙈🙈

Oh no! My poor pup hates fireworks but he was far away from them last night so he was happy!
Thank you very much, I’m glad someone is enjoying them 🙂
I literally cannot believe it either, it is crazy! I cannot say here unfortunately as they have strict social media rules and I don’t want to accidentally break them in the future by mentioning the company. I like to keep this very separate to my real life job. Sorry!
