I wrote a post not too long ago on the dangers of fake makeup; where trying to bag yourself a bargain can actually turn into a major health concern. I then wrote a post filled with Tam Beauty dupes so that if you wanted to find a legitimate bargain, where a cheaper product is very similar to an expensive high-end product, you had a place to start hunting. That post was so popular so thank you all so much for your kind words on the list – it did take over a month to compile! With that in mind I thought today’s post should feature legitimate bargains for expensive high end products; paying special attention to the brand Too Faced.
So I’ve warned you all on the dangers of buying makeup at a price which is too good to be true and now I’m telling you that it is indeed possible. Confusing right? Well my previous post was all about buying from online auction sites and shops, where everybody and anybody can put items up for sale. These Too Faced bargains were actually found on my local highstreet with the legitimate store: T K Maxx.
T K Maxx is a store which works directly with designers and brands to get prices at up to 60% off the RRP. Some items will be from previous seasons or end of line items that the manufacturer wants to shift – which allows T K Maxx to sell them at such a great price. Interestingly the Too Faced items that I found are currently on sale on the Too Faced website, but are no where near as reduced as the T K Maxx price.
The products I found were:
- Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick, Melted Frosting – £5.99 RRP £19
- Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue – £4.99 RRP £17
- 3 Way Lash Lining Tool – £4.99 RRP £18
- Bulletproof Eyeliner, Silver Lining – £5.99 RRP £19
- Bulletproof Eyeliner, Purple Rain – £5.99 RRP £19
I literally couldn’t believe it when I saw the Too Faced items in store, especially as they’re not listed on their website. There’s definitely a bit of luck involved when it comes to the selection and the quality of makeup in store. I do recommend checking them before you purchase because for some reason people love to touch all the makeup products – gross.
I picked up all of the above items including 2 of the glitter glue primers as I couldn’t quite believe the price. Overall I spent £32.94 which would have cost me £109 through Too Faced – that’s a saving of £76.06 and approximately a 70% off deal.
If you’re thinking about buying that must have product on eBay, I would definitely give T K Maxx a good look first as they sell such a huge selection of high end makeup products at a cheaper price. Brands include: Nars, Real Techniques, Ciate, Laura Mercier, Makeup Forever and so much more.
What bargains have you found recently?
