Feelin Frosty Makeup Look

With the warmth and glow of Christmas disappearing, the cold harsh weather of January is upon us with not much to look forward to until Valentines Day. That however doesn’t mean you can’t slay it during the month of new beginnings and resolutions; I for one am determined to keep myself upbeat by trying out all of my new makeup! When I created this look, I was somewhere in that awkward zone between Christmas and New Years and there was a gentle frost outside indicating the change to cold and forgiving weather. So instead of crawling back into the warmth of my bed, I dug out my makeup favourites and decided to create a cool and frosty makeup look.

Foundation: For a flawless, set finish I always opt for L’Oreal True Match Foundation Rose Ivory set with the Laura Geller Baked Balance & Brighten Colour Correcting Foundation. I love that the overall look isn’t too cakey and my skin always looks 1000% better than using either foundation on it’s own; for me it’s a winning combination. Balance & Brighten also stops your foundation from creasing for the entire day – that’s money well spent!

Contour:  No matter what bronzers or contour palettes come my way, I always come back to the Kat Von D Shades & Light Face Contour Palette. The lightest shade is so pigmented yet blends beautifully on pale skin. I’ve had this palette for just over a year and I am still yet to hit pan, with pretty much 5 days a week use! I will definitely be repurchasing.

Highlight: Anastasia Beverly Hills Ultimate Glow Kit – shade Snow. This metallic white shade is gorgeous by the glitter is very chunky. Definitely a very intense highlight!

Eyeshadow: I decided to dig out my Urban Decay Naked 2 which I absolutely don’t use enough! I forgot that there are some amazing shades in there and such a good selection of mattes and shimmers. I covered my entire eyelid and crease with the matte shade Tease; blending it down to my lower lash line. I then took the shade Booty Call and patted it onto my eyelid before taking the same brush I used for Tease; smoking out my crease and outer corner. I then took the shimmery pink shade Chopper and applied this to my outer corner before taking a clean fluffy brush and gently blending around my crease. To highlight my inner corners, I took the shimmery silver shade Verve and gently packed it into my inner corner and long the inner side of my lower lash line. Overall it created a beautiful cool toned, shimmery look and I love it!

Mascara: I decided to layer my 2 current mascaras: Too Faced Better Than Sex and Kiko MaxiMod to create insane length and definition.

Brows: 2017 will be the year I tame those brows and get them shaped to perfection, until then Benefit 3D Browtones is a quick and easy way to add definition and help darken light eyebrows.

Lips: I received a gorgeous Stila liquid lipstick giftset for Christmas and decided to try out the wonderfully grey toned pink shade: Baci. So far I absolutely love the formula as it dries 100% matte and doesn’t budge, even when eating ribs, but it feels so soft and almost buttery when you apply it. The scent is also so good with an almost creamy fragrance. So far this has been a massive hit!

With the oranges and burgundys of Autumn, shortly followed by the reds and golds of Christmas; I had forgotten how much I love cool toned makeup and it’s safe to say I’ll be owning January by releasing my inner Ice Queen.
