Natural Romantic Smoke feat E.L.F

After receiving my last E.L.F Beauty Squad Box, I thought I’d have a little play around and create a more romantic makeup look. I loved the pink, shimmery tones of the eyeshadows and highlight; I’ve verged a little on the obsessive side and have reached for these products over pretty much everything else in my makeup collection! I thought this would be a really easy look for work and it’s definitely pretty enough to wear on a date. I’ve even had lots of compliments on how glowy and healthy I looked which was definitely reason enough to share this look with all of you.

Foundation: I have been using the L’Oreal True Match Foundation Rose Ivory for so long now but it just works for me! This time I have set it with the Laura Geller Baked Balance & Glow as this has a gorgeous subtle shimmer to it for a really healthy look. It’s also a little less heavy than the Balance & Brighten formula, though it’s not as long lasting I find it looks a lot more natural.

Contour: I am still so in love with the  Kat Von D Shades & Light Face Contour Palette. It’s pigmented, the formula is soft and blends wonderfully. You don’t look muddy and that’s even on pale skin! I’ve also been using the banana shade under my eyes instead of using concealer and I love how natural it looks but still covers my dark circles.

Highlight: The E.L.F Blush Gems Highlight is utterly gorgeous. It’s baked, the perfect balance of shimmer and sits really nicely on the skin. For a subtle highlight I applied this with a fluffy tapered brush to my cheekbones, nose and cupid’s bow. The pinky pigment added a slight warmth to my complexion and it just looked so healthy! I am definitely a massive fan of this highlight.

Eyeshadow: I really love eyeshadow quads and trios so I was so excited to try the E.L.F Peach Please Baked Eyeshadow Trio. Each shade is so pigmented, is not at all chalky and there was zero fallout on my cheeks. To create this soft, smoky look I applied the dusty, shimmery pink shade all over my eyelid and up into my crease. I then took the chocolate brown shade which has a subtle shimmer to it and applied this to my outer corner and up into the outer part of my crease in a C shape. To make sure this blended seamlessly, I used a clean, fluffy eyeshadow brush and gently blended the 2 shades together. To highlight my inner corners and brow bone I took the pale, nude shade which has an amazing golden duo-chrome shimmer and packed this on. This was so pigmented and added a wow factor to the whole look.

Mascara: To lengthen and curl my lashes I used my all time favourite mascara: Benefit Rollerlash. This was my absolute favourite during late 2015/early 2016 and I’m not quite sure why I took so long to repurchase it. It lengthens my lashes but gives them such an uplifting curl which does not drop throughout the day.

Brows: I’m trying to work on my brows this year so I used the Freedom Brow Pomade in  Blonde to define my brows, then set them with Benefit 3d Brow Tones. Ideally I need to shape them again soon, but I was quite happy with how they turned out!

Lips: To complete this look I dug out my all time favourite Colourpop Lippie Stix in Tootsi as it’s my all time favourite pinky nude. The formula stays all day, feels super comfortable and it is so easy to apply. I definitely need to buy another one soon as I’ve already used almost half the lipstick in only a few months!

Overall I really love this look, it’s wonderfully glowy which is exactly what I need to feel brighter during the Winter.

What makeup looks are you loving at the moment?
