Primark Festival Makeup

I love having a good browse in the Primark beauty section. As it’s 2017 and we still don’t have a proper Primark website, you never really know what you’re going to get when you pop into store and sometimes you find some really good hidden gems. My most recent hidden gems came in the best format, the sparkly and holographic variety and though I don’t have a specific occasion to rock these makeup items – I just could not resist.

2017 is the year of the unicorn festival glitter, it’s absolutely everywhere but it can get rather pricey with some brands on BeautyBay selling their glitter from £4 to £8 a pot. This isn’t too bad if you only want the one shade but this can quickly rack up. Primark is luckily to the rescue with relatively cheap festival makeup sets and I managed to find a glitter and glue set for £3 and a metallic lipgloss set for £3.50 – bargain!

The lipglosses are relatively small but each tube is very full and they are the perfect size to pack into your festival makeup bag. There are 4 metallic shades in pink, blue, purple and clear and each has a beautiful holographic shift. The formula is quite pigmented which really surprised me. They’re thick but not sticky and will require touch ups after food and drink.

The glitter set contains 3 pots of glitter in pink, turquoise and holographic clear along with a fairly sizeable tube of face glue. I found that the glue was absolutely fantastic and kept the glitter in place, it dried quickly but with enough time to play with the glitter and did not leave a tacky residue on my skin. It also wasn’t itchy, drying and did not irritate  my skin.

Overall I’m really impressed with these sets, they are the perfect price for a bit of festival and party fun without breaking the bank. The quality is perfect for creating a striking, sparkly look and I particularly love the metallic lipglosses, I can see myself layering these with my favourite lipsticks for a holographic look. If you want to add some magic sparkle to your makeup look this Summer, I highly recommend giving your local Primark a visit!

Of course, when I went to Oxford’s Street Primark store back in May, I wasn’t a big fan of glitter. Now that I am back in France and my Primark store is not as fully stocked, I love them. WTF lol !
I’m really happy that you loved the glitter kit because I’m traveling to London in a week and I’m going to try and pick it up along with most lip products (I’m in love with their lip products ! :D) ! So thanks for that great review of yours – the glitter looks awesome on you, you unicorn-mermaid-y girl 😉
