ELF Massaging Facial Cleanser

I’ve been wanting to try a massaging facial cleansing brush for a while now except the current leading brands are pretty pricey. This has always put me off investing in them as you never know if a skincare product is truly right for you. However ELF has saved the day with their very own massaging facial cleanser and it is an absolute steal at £24.50.

Currently only available on the ELF website, and hopefully soon to Superdrug, ELF’s description of their new beauty tool is:

Bring the spa home with this luxurious cleanser. Perfectly shaped to fit in your hand, the Massaging Facial Cleanser features a unique design with ultra-flexible silicone tips and massaging facial technology that guarantees a gentle and deep cleanse.

Intrigued? So was I!

For the past 2 weeks I have been testing this product out with an array of cleansers and masks to see how well it performs. I find it incredibly lightweight and not at all a chore to hold. It fits really naturally in my hand and it’s length along with the tapered tip, allows me to really get into the contours of my face. It’s truly effortless.

I first tried the cleanser out with ELF’s Hydrating Bubble Mask – a firm favourite of mine. Once ready to remove, I gently massed the cleansing tool across my face as it pulsated the product into my skin. I found that the pulsations were incredibly gentle which makes this perfect for anyone with sensitive skin. If you need a deeper cleanse, simply apply more pressure – it’s as easy as that. I found the silicone bristled side gave my skin a deeper clean than if I were to use just my hands and over the course of 2 weeks, my skin was noticeably a lot softer.

Now this cleansing tool also has another side on the back with fine ridges, aiming to help massage the product into your skin which in turn aids with product absorption. I found this side to be most effective with oil based cleansers and I use this after cleansing with the silicone bristles. With foaming cleansers, this step didn’t really make a difference to my skin and could definitely be skipped. However, when using with oil based cleansers I found my skin was much softer afterwards.

This little gadget is also water resistant so you can use it in the shower, perfect for when you’re strapped for time in the mornings. However, it won’t take being submerged so be careful if using it in the bath. As for battery life? You don’t need to worry as it comes with a battery and you can change it with a watch battery once it runs out. This makes me so happy as I was considering buying the Foreo Luna Play Cleansing Brush which is £4.50 more expensive and you cannot change the battery. How crazy and wasteful! This product is also very easy to clean, I run mine under hot water to remove any cleanser within the bristles and dry with a towel. As it’s made with silicone, any product wipes away very easily.

Overall I am so in love with this cleansing brush. It does exactly what it claims to do and you can reuse it when the battery runs out, all at a drugstore price. I am honestly so impressed with this that I am definitely gifting a few for Christmas to people I know really love their skincare. It is a drugstore game changer!

Do you use any skincare tools? I’d love to know what you use in the comments below!

This sounds like such an interesting product. I haven’t used any skincare tools myself, I’m so torn between ‘They’re a gimmick’ and ‘Oh my gosh I need them’. This sounds great though. xxx
